The Lithium1200:
Built Different,
Built to Last.

Spec sheets look similar across most portable power stations. The casing material, the connector type, what happens to the unit in a decade — those are the decisions that separate equipment built for the field from equipment that merely looks the part.

The Flexopower Lithium1200 was designed around four decisions that no other portable power station brand has made. Together they produce a unit that is safer, lasts longer, delivers more current and connects more reliably than anything else in this category.

Feature Flexopower Lithium1200 All other brands
Casing Full aluminium — impact resistant, non-combustible Only brand Polymer — cracks on impact, combustible
Battery end-of-life Replace battery module only — unit continues Only brand Replace entire unit Total write-off
DC output 13.5V / 14A — runs 3 fridges simultaneously Only brand 10A maximum — every brand
DC OUTPUT CONNECTOR Anderson SB50 grey — industrial locking connection Only brand Cigarette lighter socket — vibration disconnects load
AC output 1200W pure sine wave / 1600W power boost Varies by model
Charging sources Alternator (FlexoDrive) + Solar up to 400W + Grid Solar + Grid (most models)

Every other portable power station uses a polymer shell. Polymer is cheaper to mould and lighter to ship — and it is a fuel. When a lithium battery event occurs inside a polymer housing, the casing contributes to the fire. The Lithium1200 uses a full aluminium enclosure. Aluminium does not crack under impact, does not warp in sustained heat, and does not combust. For a unit stored in the same cargo bay as fuel, food and bedding, that is not a marginal distinction — it is the distinction that matters most when things go wrong.

Field test: Drop a heavy stone on a Lithium1200. The aluminium casing absorbs it. Do the same to any competitor unit and you are looking at cracked polymer before you have left camp.

After approximately ten years of regular use, the lithium cells in any power station will be spent. On every other brand, that means replacing the entire unit — the screen, the inverter, the elctronics, the ports, the housing: all functional, all discarded because the sealed battery inside cannot be serviced. The Lithium1200 offers the option to replace the battery only. The aluminium housing and all electronics continue to perform and considerably less electronic waste ends up in landfill.

Every competitor in this segment delivers a maximum of 10A on their DC port — enough for one fridge running comfortably, with little headroom for anything else. The Lithium1200 delivers 13.5V at 14A, providing sufficient current to run three 12V compressor units simultaneously without the system straining. For families, groups, or anyone separating food from medicine storage, the extra amperage is the difference between a system that works and one that falls short.

That output arrives through a grey Anderson SB50 connector — an industrial-grade locking connection rated for continuous DC loads. Every other brand in this category uses a cigarette lighter socket: on a rough track, vibration during travel silently disconnects the load, leaving your fridge without power before you notice the problem. The Anderson SB50 locks positively. Your cold chain remains intact.

The Lithium1200 delivers 1200 watts of pure sine wave AC output — sufficient for a Nespresso machine, a portable hair dryer, a CPAP machine or standard power tools. For loads needing a short burst of additional power, the unit boosts to 1600W, handling kettle-class appliances and high-start-current motors without tripping.

Paired with the FlexoDrive DC-DC unit, fitted by a qualified Flexopower installer, the Lithium1200 becomes the central energy hub of a complete Mobile Dual Battery System. While you drive, the alternator charges it through the FlexoDrive. In camp, up to 400W of solar continues the charge. Before leaving home, a fast grid charge tops it to 100%. Three sources, one system, always ready.

Unlike a fixed dual battery installation locked to one vehicle, the Lithium1200 is fully portable — it moves between vehicles, sits on a trailer, and comes inside at the end of a trip. The dual battery functionality is identical. The vehicle is interchangeable.

In one sentence: Drive to camp and arrive with a full battery. Run two fridges and an ice maker on solar. Arrive home, charge on the grid — use it there, or pack it into the next vehicle. Repeat. This investment is not locked into one place.
