Built on TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) cell technology, it delivers ≥25.8% cell efficiency, IP67 waterproofing and a 5-year warranty — a full generation ahead of shingled ETFE construction. 165W of field-proven output in a compact tri-fold design that folds to 600 × 610 × 45mm. Do I need a charge controller?
No — when connecting directly to a Flexopower power station via a FlexoLink cable, the power station's built-in MPPT controller manages the charge. If connecting to a conventional deep cycle battery, a separate solar charge controller is required.
What is TOPCon technology?
TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) is the latest generation of monocrystalline solar cell technology. It achieves higher efficiency than PERC and shingled ETFE panels by reducing electron recombination losses at the cell surface. The result is more watts per square metre and better performance in low-light conditions.
Is the FlexoSun 165W waterproof?
Yes. The FlexoSun 165W is IP67 rated — fully dustproof and waterproof to 1 metre submersion for 30 minutes. It is built for real field conditions including rain, dust and humidity.
How does the FlexoSun 165W compare to the FlexoSun 260W?
Both panels share the same TOPCon cell technology, IP67 rating, Anderson SB50 connector and 5-year warranty. The 165W uses a tri-fold design and is more compact, making it ideal for smaller setups or space-constrained vehicles.
