KALAHARI-400 HI-VOLT TEFLON (ETFE) FOLDABLE SOLAR PANEL BY FLEXOPOWER
CHARGE FASTER WITH HIGHER EFFICIENCY
The new Kalahari Solar Panel 400W in High Voltage
As the demand for more power output continues to surge, the conventional 12V solar panel systems are no longer suitable. We are proud to introduce our innovative Hi-Volt system, operating at a nominal 24V. With higher watt ratings and increased voltage, our Hi-Volt system significantly reduces current in cables, resulting in a more stable and efficient power system.
Hi-Volt. Perfect for all portable power stations where solar input is capped at 10A.
Hi-Volt. This product is ideal for many MPPT camping systems that require a powerful solar charge. Victron Smart MPPTs are well suited.
Hi-Volt. Increase extension cable (4 mm²) length up to 25m.
The module is encapsulated with Teflon (ETFE). This provides the optimal encapsulation for portable solar panels. Flexopower exclusively utilizes Neoflon from Daikin (Japan).
Shingled solar cell technology. More power per m² and better suited against losses from partial shading.
Aluminum Frame. The aluminum frame ensures robust stability, thereby minimizing long-term solar cell cracking.
- Hi-Volt means Vmp of 36.5 V rated at 400 W. The majority of portable power stations are limited to a max. 10A solar input. Conventional 12V solar panels quickly exceed this limitation, their input capped and slower to recharge. Whereas the Kalahari 400 input is not capped, ensuring a faster recharge.
- Hi-Volt means Vmp of 36.5V rated at 400W. Means an improved battery charge for campers with a suitable MPPT charge controller. The MPPT is stepping down the Kalahari 400 voltage to the camper's battery voltage. This increased voltage differential improves the efficiency of the MPPT as compared to a conventional 12V panel. Higher voltage also reduces the voltage loss in cabling.
- Victron Smart MPPT's are ideal to work with the Hi-Volt panels. Unfortunately, Ctek, RedArc, and others do not yet cater to it.
- Hi-Volt means not suitable for PWM charge controllers.
- Shingled solar cells are connected in groups and configured in parallel, greatly reducing losses from partial shading (other panels typically have their cells wired in series, causing significant losses if part of the panel is shaded).
- Shingled solar cells reduce the spacing between the cells, with no silver metal strips running across the panel, reducing the footprint of the panel. Smaller panel = less packing space.

- Supporting legs: Collapsible supporting legs angle the solar panels at 45 degrees against the sun for improved solar harvesting, especially during winter months and low sun settings.
- Quality assurance: each solar panel has its own unique serial number, making it traceable through the entire manufacturing and QC process.

- 5-year warranty

We bought the Kalahari 400W, 24 Volt in 2024, used it in Namibia during June 2024 and in June 2025 in Zimbabwe Gonarezhou - 14 days off-grid.
Exceptional performance charging our 2x100Ah batteries in the Afrispoor caravan in less than 2 hours to floating stage. Some days were half overcasted and some camping spots were so shady we could only het full June sun after 12:00
We ran 2x75 litres National Luna fridges from the batteries, also the caravan lights and waterpump.
Very good unit. Almost produces the full 400 w. Is a good purchase
Panels worked great even in shade. Only comment is the frame can get a little hot
Working very well
Lighter and more compact that traditional panels so easier to load and move around. Built out of quality materials. And Flexopower service has alwys been good. But the best-yet performance using high quality cables, on a crystal clear day and near perfect sun orientation has been 280W (as measured on the Lithium 700). Typically get around 240W. A bit dissapointing for a 400w setup when my "old school 2x100W puts in 155W under the same conditions, and tests with far cheaper gizzu 200W panels as well as Ecoflow panels produce better conversions.
